Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies holds 3rd election meeting of the Trade Union Committee


The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies has held the 3rd  election meeting of the Trade Union Committee of the Administrative Personnel of the Ministry of Communications and IT.  Head of the Administrative Personnel  of the Ministry, Vidadi Zeynalov,  declared the meeting open. Then, chairman of the Trade Union, Shirzad Ismayilov delivered a report at the meeting.  

He told that the number of members of the Trade Union among the Administrative Personnel of Ministry constitutes 91 people.  Speaking about activities implemented from January 1, 2008 up to now, Mr. Ismayilov informed that the Ministry strengthened its activities in the fields of protection of labor and protection of rights of workers.

At the same time, the Ministry has developed regulations for the Gender Equality and Women’s Affairs Commission that will be created at the Ministry of Communications and IT in accordance with the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation’s decision on the ‘Gender and Women Affairs’. 

According to Mr. Ismayilov, in order to promote physical training and sports activities in the country employees of the Ministry will take part in the mini-football, chess, and backgammon and table tennis tournaments to be held in Azerbaijan. 

Besides that, community work day was organized for communication workers on which they planted a lot of trees to expand green areas in Baku city. ‘The income and expenditure estimate for 2009-2010 was prepared and approved to insure   recreation activities for workers during the reporting period.  

According to the estimate, the workers who have stayed in hospital for more than 30 calendar days for stationary treatment or undergone surgical operation will be paid 60 manat, workers who have married for the first time and have at least 3 years of working experience in the sphere of public service will be paid 60 manat, workers whose close relative has died and families of workers who have died will be paid 75 manat and ets.   

The Committee is financed by means of revenues coming from organizations of the communication sphere. In general the incoming financial means are used as relief payments to workers,’ Mr. Ismayilov added. Then chairman of the Inspection Commission, Ilham Mardanov, spoke. He said that the means were reasonably expended on appropriate targets and Committee’s work may be considered as satisfactory.

During the meeting new members of governing body of the Trade Union Committee of the Administrative Personnel of the Ministry of Communications and IT were elected.    Participants to the meeting unanimously reelected  Shirzad Ismayilov as a chairman of the Trade Union.
