Volume of telephone services rendered by rural ATSs grows by 13%

‘The volume of telephone services rendered by regional ATSs has grown by 13%’, told during his interview to ‘ICTnews’ Mahammad Mammadov, the general director of the ‘Aztelecom’ Production Unit.   According to him, the increase was especially high in Salyan, Samukh, Zardab, Apsheron and Goranboy regions.

M.Mammadov said that this increase in the volume of telephone services was achieved as a result of measures taken towards raising the volume and the quality of communication services.

‘These activities include electrification of the village network, replacing connecting lines with optic cable, enlightenment of villagers and etc. Today, a growing demand for internet services can be met through widening the network and improving the quality of telephone services. As a result of the implemented activities the number of subscribers of telecommunication hubs in the regions has surpassed 662,000 people.

At present, there are 12 telephones for every 100 people, and 57.3 telephones for every 100 households in the service area of Aztelekom.  There is also great demand for CDMA type non-sim telephone services in the regions.

The number of subscribers of the CDMA non-sim telephone network has now surpassed 20,000 people.  After this network had been extended to include 5 residential areas, satellite terminals were taken out of service in these areas’ he said.
