Representatives of Azerbaijani state bodies receive e-Government training in Estonia


On 13-17 May, 2012,  in  the Estonian capital of Tallinn,  the Civil Service Affairs Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan jointly with the Estonian Eastern Partnership Centre conducted a training course, titled ‘The legal framework of the e-Government – basic concepts and achieved results’, for representatives from various Azerbaijani state bodies.

According to information provided by ICTnews,  employees of the Civil Service Affairs Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministries of Economic Development, Labour and Social Protection, Taxes, Culture and Tourism, Youth and Sport, Justice,  Communications and Information Technologies,  Health as well as  the State Committees of Customs and Land and Cartography of the Republic of Azerbaijan took  part in this training organized by the Estonian Eastern Partnership Centre and the e-Government Academy.

Participants of  this training course, which included such subjects as the ‘General information about e-Government policy and its legal framework’, ‘the e-Government and fight against corruption’, ‘Intellectual property rights in the information society’,  ‘Personal identification document and e-signature in Estonia’, ‘Legal aspects of ID-card and e-signature’, ‘Legal aspects of the protection of personal information in the information society’, ‘Development of telecommunication sector in the international and EU level’, ‘the Open Government in the information society: e-participation, e-voting and e-democracy’, ‘Legal aspects of the business register – e-services, rules and regulations’, were acquainted with the Estonian experience in ICT and discussed advantages of application of ICT in the civil service.

Within the training  participants also visited the Certification and Business Register Centres of Estonia to familiarize themselves with operation of these centres.
