Bakcell to launch a new joint initiative with Junior Achievement Azerbaijan


Bakcell, The First Mobile Operator and the Leading Mobile Internet Provider of Azerbaijan, is delighted to announce that it launches a new Bakcell-Junior Achievement Azerbaijan initiative to foster youth’s career mobility. The annual program called, ‘Careers in Mobile Telecom (CiMT) will support 45 undergraduate students to obtain the work-readiness and business ethics skills, and learn about the mobile telecommunications and the essentials of management through a practical training program. Along with the student capacity-building activities, the program envisions the development of the internship program curriculum for the mobile telecommunications company.

The Careers in Mobile Telecom program will engage third and fourth year students from 4 universities of Mingachevir and Ganja. The program will be concluded by the industry-specific internship program at Bakcell, when the participants will apply the gained knowledge in the actual workplace.

Alcatel Lucent will support the “IT in Mobile Telecom Business trainer” trainings session inviting trainer from Turkey.

Bakcell in partnership with JAA Azerbaijan has been implementing Introduction to Mobile Telecommunications Business Program since 2009. More than 150 undergraduate students with technical backgrounds was supported to obtain the work-readiness and business ethics skills, learned about the mobile telecommunications through the industry-specific practical training program, and applied the knowledge gained in the actual workplace through the internship program at Bakcell and Alcatel-Lucent.
