Exhibits displayed in Azerbaijan’s national pavilion receive high assessment at “ITU WORLD TELECOM 2012” international exhibition


"ITU WORLD TELECOM 2012" international conference and exhibition has been held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A group of high-ranking official persons led by Secretary General of the International  Telecommunication Union Hamadan Ture and President of Burkina Faso Republic Bleis Kompeao visited Azerbaijani pavilion to look closely at the projects  implemented in the Republic.

The visitors gave high assessment to various ICT-related products, solutions and initiatives, which were put on display in the pavilion.  Within the framework of the conference, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov held bilateral meetings with Secretary General of International Telecommunication Union (ITU), ministers of communications and information technologies of India, Iran and Egypt, as well as heads IT corporations and companies. 

Then, A.Abbasov delivered a speech at the meeting of ministers. He spoke about mutual cooperation and prospects for the future. After that, a presentation titled "Azerbaijan: Turning Black Gold into Human Gold" was conducted with the participation of foreign guests, reports on different topics were made and questions were answered.  Within the activity, the regular meeting of the International Advisory Board of the Organization of International Multilateral Partnership against Cyber Threats was held.

During the meeting  Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan was admitted as a member of this organization.  "ITU WORLD TELECOM 2012" conference and exhibition was  organized by the International Telecommunication Union consisting of more than 700 companies from 193 countries of the world, which operate in the field of science and information and communication technologies.

 Azerbaijan was represented at this activity by a delegation led by Minister of Communications and Information Technologies and consisting of 63 members, who were heads and employees of more than 20 IT companies, private, state and nongovernmental organizations. Azerbaijan’s national pavilion was located in the VIP hall of the exhibition on 20 m2 area. Such large scale projects as "Azerspace", Trans Eurasian Super Information Main Highway (TASIM), "e-Government", "Electronic Signature", nanotechnologies, digital television, new mobile technologies ("3G" and "4G" services) implemented in the republic, as well as the latest scientific achievements made in Azerbaijan  in the field of science and technologies were put on display in this pavilion.
