On November 13-14, UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education hosted the international conference “ICT in Education: Pedagogy, Educational Resources and Quality Assurance” (IITE 2012). The biannual conference held in Moscow was supported by UNESCO, Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics (MESI), and the State Institute of Information Technologies and Telecommunications (INFORMIKA). The conference provided a space for reflection on strategies, policies and best practices of ICT applications in education, as well as of development and implementation of innovative pedagogy methods for achieving high-quality education for EFA (“Education for All”) goals in UNESCO Member States.

This year, IITE-2012 brought together more than 100 participants from 25 countries to discuss policy dialogue on ICT use in education at all levels, mainstreaming “new pedagogy” for ICT-enhanced education. The policy and decision-makers of different levels, heads of leading universities, academic institutions and teacher training institutions, professionals and practitioners in the field of ICTs in education and innovative teachers, coordinators of UNESCO networks, representatives of local and international NGOs, and private IT companies attended the conference.

During the event, Madad Azerbaijan Research and Development Manager, Ms. Ulkar Babayeva delivered a presentation on “Where Does Madad Azerbaijan Stand in Terms of Educational Technology?” Ms. Babayeva informed the participants on the educational initiatives implemented by the organization and the role Madad Azerbaijan plays in the area of teacher competencies development through the State Program.
