Azerbaijan's Internet providers reduce tariffs

State Internet service provider of Azerbaijan BakinterNet announces reduction in cost of access to Internet, the Company said in a statement posted on its website on Friday.

The new, tariffs which will enter into force from Oct. 1, envisage increasing the traffic and capacity of broadband ADSL by half.

Depending on the chosen tariff plan, BakinterNet subscribers' costs for unlimited ADSL-access now total from AZN 10 - 512/512 Mbit /s to AZN 95 - 10240/1024 Mb/s (the cost of installation - AZN 5).

A similar plan will also operate from Oct. 1 in the network of other public Internet service provider AztelekomNet, which it announced today.

The reduction in tariffs for Internet services is primarily related to the decision of the primary provider DeltaTelecom, which presented to the Internet service providers 60-percent discount for rental of the international channels of communication.

This, in turn, has enabled service providers to significantly reduce the price of ADSL-services, providing users with more favorable rates.

At present, the cost of access to the Internet was reduced by the companies AlfaNet, AzStarNet, SmartSystems and Ultel.
