The EU Ministers signed a Declaration for distribution 5G network


The Ministers for telecommunications of the 28 EU countries signed a Declaration aimed at promoting 5G network on its territory, according to the materials of the EU Council.
 
5G network, the implementation of which is expected in 2020 will enable to exchange information in real time at speeds over 10 gigabits per second, ten times faster than 4G networks. So, this technology will allow you to download a three-hour HD movie on a «per second», according to the materials of the Council.
 
«Declaration of intent aimed at creating a common framework for future 5G standards,» — said in the message Board. The Ministers acknowledge the willingness to work to create clear and predictable policy and regulatory conditions at the regional, national and European levels, the document says.
 
The Declaration includes a number of steps that EU countries want to take to developing these networks in Europe. In particular, the idea is to make available the necessary radio spectrum and to strengthen the basic principles of his administration, the gradual spread of 5G, when the EU, with the overall goal of dissemination, the first step will be to promote the use of the network in «major urban areas and along main transport routes», says the Declaration.
 
In addition, there is the need to preserve global interoperability of 5G. «Standards are of paramount importance for the competitiveness and interoperability of global telecommunications networks,» the document reads.
 
Earlier it was reported that San Marino will become the first country in Europe, which will move to the fifth generation of mobile communications: the agreement was signed on Monday between the authorities of the state and the largest Italian operator TIM. Russian operators are already preparing to implement 5G: MTS, Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung; MegaFon — Huawei and Nokia, Tele2 — Nokia. Despite the fact that the standard is not yet approved, MTS and MegaFon have already conducted testing 5G in Russia.
