Baku Telephone Communications LLC increases capacity of wireless communication network before summer season

Given the upcoming summer-season influx of residents of the capital to Baku’s suburbs, as in the previous years, Baku Telephone Communications LLC (Baktelecom) of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (MTCHT) has started implementing measures to expand the coverage area of the wireless network.

Thus, in order to provide services to more users, Baktelecom is now strengthening the network by increasing the capacity of the existing 140 base stations. Upon completion of these measures, the densely populated areas around Baku city will be provided with uninterrupted and high-quality telecommunication services.

Currently, the Wireless Communication Service is being provided to all villages in Absheron Peninsula and to some territories with limited infrastructure.

In the near future, Mushvig and Lokbatan settlements, as well as the territories of the 20th district and the Ukrainian Circle will be included in the coverage area of the Wireless Communication Service.  As part of the project, the number of base stations will be increased, and by the end of the year, a thirty thousand infrastructure will be put at the disposal of subscribers.

Note that the Wireless Communication Service of Baku Telephone Communications LLC is provided on the basis of LTE technology (LTE - Long Term Evolution). This technology helps to resolve problems connected with the provision of telecommunication services to areas with limited infrastructure.
