Huawei’s Petal Search, a Google Search alternative, is now on AppGallery

It’s no secret that Huawei is pouring resources to build out its Huawei Mobile Services as a replacement for Google Mobile Services on its phones. AppGallery is arguably the most famous and user-facing component of the suite, but let’s not forget there are others.
 
According to Huawei Central, Huawei Search, which has been in internal testing since Feb, is now generally available. Now called Petal Search, this app is basically Huawei’s alternative to Google Search.
 
Some of the things you can do in the app include searching for other apps, finding music and videos, and getting weather forecasts, top news, sports results and stock market movements. You can also use it to search for local services and book hotel rooms. Since this Android after all, there’s also a widget.
