On January 25, 2021, the Backup Data Center of AzInTelecom LLC under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, built in Yevlakh, was awarded the Tier 3 Facility certificate by the Uptime Institute of the United States of America. During technical testing for awarding a certificate, the stability of all critical infrastructure equipment and systems of the Data Center was tested in stages by specialists of the Uptime Institute.
It should be noted that the purpose of building of a backup data center in Yevlakh after the main data center in Baku is to protect customer data, to provide reliable and quality cloud services for backup. The center was built within the framework of the project of AzInTelecom LLC and the Ministry of Justice “Progressive Justice Services and Modern Judicial Infrastructure” financed by the World Bank.
All critical infrastructure systems and equipment of this Data Center, the total construction area of which is 1400 square meters, have been built on the 1 + 1 principle. The infrastructure consists of alternative energy supply and fire extinguishing systems, physical protection, reserve tanks for water and fuel, as well as systems with a high level of safety of alternative energy sources.
One of the main advantages of designing of a mobile Backup Data Center is its portability, which also increases the reliability of data storage containers in the event of emergency, allows them to be physically relocated to safer area.
Geographic reservation of IMS-type station systems is also provided, which ensure the exchange of international telephone calls between Azerbaijan and the world through the container-type infrastructure built in Yevlakh.
It is to be recalleed that AzInTelecom LLC provides AZCLOUD cloud services on the basis of the first Data Center in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus region having certificates Tier III, International IT Service Management standard (ISO 20000), Business Continuity Management System Standard (ISO 22301) and Information Security Management System Standard (ISO 27001).
