ICT services up by 12 per cent in Azerbaijan


Volume of ICT services rendered to organizations and population in Azerbaijan amounted to $1.2 million in 2011 or 11.8 per cent more compared to 2010, the State Statistics Service informed.

According to the information, 72.7 per cent of the total volume fell to services rendered to population. About 61.8 per cent of received income fell to mobile communication services which increased by 3.6 per cent to hit 770 million manat compared to 2010.

Number of mobile communication users increased by 162,500 in 2011. Number of subscriber numbers amounted to 9.1 million, 7 million of which were active as of Jan.1, 2012.

The State Statistics Service also noted increase in rate of production of information and communications equipment in the country.

Thus, computer, electronic, optical and electrical equipment worth 192.4 million manat was produced in Azerbaijan as of 2011.

A 22.8 per cent growth was recorded in the field of computer and other electric production. Production of TV sets increased by 2.2 times as of 2011. Finished product worth 9.7 million manat was kept in stock, or 3.7 per cent of the total reserves of the products of industrial enterprises.
