Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies discusses application of e-services

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a broad meeting of the Coordinating Council in connection with  the implementation of the State Programs ‘Electronic Azerbaijan and ‘e-Government’ in line with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s decree  on ‘Some measures for organization of e-Services rendered by state bodies’.

Authorized representatives and experts from the Cabinet of Ministers and other public bodies took part in the activity.

During the meeting the Chairman of the Coordinating Council, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Iltimas Mammadov gave a statement in which he drew attention of participants to problems existing in the area of rendering e-services by public bodies.

He informed participants about orders and instruction given by the President Ilham Aliyev in this regard during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on April 16, 2012 to discuss results of the social and economic development and prospects for the future.  I.Mammadov stressed the importance of fulfillment  of the President’s orders and instructions for removing these problems. 

Then, a presentation of activities implemented under the decree was held. The meeting also discussed existing problems and activities implemented by each public body in this connection.  In was noted that provision of e-signatures began in September of 2011, and the ‘e-Government Gateway’ infrastructure has been created in order to insure exchange of information between public bodies.

 Also, as part of the realization of the President’s decree, the e-Services register was created and all electronic services rendered by public bodies were entered into the register.     56 e-services provided by 14 public bodies have been introduced to the e-Services register so far.

This portal is expected to be put into operation in the near future. During the meeting broad discussions of problems raised by representatives of various public bodies were held.  At the conclusion of the meeting a decision was taken to accelerate the implementation of activities in order to fulfill orders and instructions on application of e-services within the given time.
