A ceremony dedicated to the 20th anniversary of creation of the “Azermarka” company has been held at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The president of the company Intigam Bagirov made a statement at the ceremony in which he informed participants about activities held by Azermarka.
He said that starting from 1992, new pages has been opened in the history of Azerbaijan’s postage stamps. “Since that year until now, Azermarka has designed and issued 883 postage stamps on various themes.
A total of more than 145,600,000 postage stamps on a wide range of topics, including outstanding personalities, architectural monuments, flora and fauna, sports, cosmos have been released into circulation so far. Postage stamps are issues in Azerbaijan based on the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Law on Postal Communication.
Each year Azermarka prepares a topical plan for the postage stamps to be released in the next year. Azerbaijan’s outstanding personalities hold the special place in a topical plan. Azermarka has released 12 stamps and 9 postage stamp blocks dedicated to the prominent statesperson and the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov also spoke at the activity. He gave a high assessment to Azermarka’s activities and said that the company informs the world community about achievements made in all spheres of life in Azerbaijan.
Postage stamps dedicated to architectural monuments in “Old Town”, Customs Museum’s exhibits, the 20th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan and “Eurovision-2012” Song Contest are especially popular among philatelists.
Azermarka has taken part in more than 30 international philatelic exhibitions since it was established 20 years ago. The company established cooperation with the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union”, A.Abbasov said at the ceremony.
The general director of the “Azerpoct” LLC Gambar Baybalayev and the deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Philatelists Union Rovshan Agayev also spoke at the ceremony. They wished success to Azermarka in its future activity. Representatives of Germany, Russia and Bulgaria also took part in the activity. As part of the activity distinguished employees of Azermarka were awarded honorary diplomas and prizes. T
he activity concluded with a signing ceremony organized in connection with release into circulation of new postage stamps dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the “Azermarka” company. The document was signed by the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov and the president of the “Azermarka” company Intigam Bagirov.
