In Azerbaijan, electronic signatures more precisely indicate the date of signing than in other countries

The 1st Workshop of the EaP.Trust and Secure Network was held in Brussels, Belgium. The workshop was attended by representatives of the 6 Eastern Partnership countries, including Azerbaijan, as well as a number of European Union member states - Estonia, Lithuania, Finland and Luxembourg.

The purpose of the workshop was to support the development of cybersecurity mechanisms and a national cybersecurity strategy for the Eastern Partnership countries. The participants of the workshop made presentations on electronic identification, authentication services (e-IDAS) and cybersecurity.

During the first day of the workshop, presentations on electronic identification and digital signature were made.

The director of the National Certification Services Center of the Data Processing Centre Arif Mailov also took part in the event.  He brought to the attention of the participants that the National Certification Services Center, which has been operating since 2011, and the “Asan Imza” Centre, which was accredited in 2013 by the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, have achieved great success within a short space of time.

The participants highly appreciated Azerbaijan's experience in the field of electronic signatures. It was noted that in Azerbaijan, electronic signatures more precisely indicate the date of signing than in other countries.

Note that a modern signature system functions at the National Certification Services Center to ensure the accuracy of time indicators.

During the second day of the workshop, an action plan and the drafts of memorandums to be signed between the Eastern Partnership countries were discussed at the “Compatibility of digital markets” (HDM) panel.
