Today, on occasion of the 94th anniversary of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, the staff of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies paid a visit to the Alley of Honor.
There, the employees of the Ministry honored the memory of the architect and founder of the independent Azerbaijan, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, and laid a wreath at his grave.
They also commemorated the memory of the outstanding ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and laid flowers at her grave.
Then, a ceremony of honoring the memory of the national leader was held at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
At the event, a film about the life and work of the national leader Heydar Aliyev was shown.
Then, the Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade spoke about the glorious and meaningful life-path of the national leader, as well as his rich state experience and invaluable merits.
The Minister noted that the great leader had laid the foundation for further comprehensive development of Azerbaijan.
Ramin Guluzade characterized Heydar Aliyev as an outstanding statesman and wise politician, noting that due to his great efforts, stability, peace, social welfare, democracy and economic progress were achieved in the country.
The Minister noted that as in all areas of the country’s economy , Heydar Aliyev attached great importance to the development of transport and creation of a new transport infrastructure.
"As a result of capital works that were carried out under Heydar Aliyev’s leadership in the railway, air and water transport sectors, the intensity and volume of freight and passenger traffic increased.
At the same time, urban transport and underground railway were developing rapidly, new stations were built and passenger transport was modernized," the Minister said.
The Minister stressed that during all periods of Heydar Aliyev's stay in power, along with transport, special attention was paid to the development of communications in Azerbaijan.
He said that thanks to Heydar Aliyev's far-sighted policy, wide changes were made to bring the sphere of information and communication technologies to the level of modern requirements.
"A worthy successor to the political course of the great leader, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who has declared this sphere a priority, constantly keeps its development in the center of attention. Thank to this care and attention, we also take an active part in the development of the information and communication technologies sector."
The other speakers spoke about the life path of the creator of the modern Azerbaijan state, his historical merits before the homeland and the people, including the successes achieved in all areas of the social and economic life in Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the successes, attained as a result of the far-sighted policy of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, have created a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the country's economy in the years to come.
