Azerbaijani specialists continue to study international experience in e-governance and digitalization and to share their experience with foreign specialists in line with the state policy in the field of development of electronic government and electronic services.
Thus, a delegation from the Data Processing Centre of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (MTCHT) visited Vienna within the framework of ICT cooperation with Austria.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held meetings with the heads of the The Austrian Federal Chancellery, Austrian Digital Organization, Federal Computer Center, Austrian Technology Institute and other relevant organizations. The main topic of the meetings was the application, security and mutual recognition of mobile government and mobile signature.
It was noted that the issuance of new generation ID cards to Azerbaijani citizens from 2018 necessitates the expansion of application of mobile government and mobile signature. In this regard, it was decided to accelerate the application of both electronic government components - mobile government and mobile signature - within the framework of mutual cooperation with Austria.
The exchange of experience in e-government development, electronic services evaluation, electronic identity card, open government data was also discussed. During the discussions, the Austrian experts hailed the application of MTCHT’s regulations for carrying e-signatures in tokens and simplified use of e-signatures as a successful experience.
Note that the visit took place within the "Strengthening the development of electronic services in the Republic of Azerbaijan" project, which is being jointly implemented by the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies and the European Union.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan and Austria have been cooperating in all spheres for over 25 years. The economic relations between the two countries are regulated by the Joint Commission for Cooperation in the fields of Economy, Agriculture, Industry and Technology. The Commission is headed by Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade on Azerbaijan’s part. So far, more than 40 bilateral agreements have been signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and Austria.
