Training on the topic of "Application of Virtual Reality technologies in innovative entrepreneurship" was held on February 22, 2019 within the framework of Innovative Business Program. The training was organized by the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies with the support of the UN’s International Trade Centre.
The participants of the training, which was held for the first time in Azerbaijan on such a topic, received theoretical and practical information on immersive media technologies and their application in innovative entrepreneurial activity, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies. They also acquired basic skills for creating and editing 360-degree format video content and posting it on internet resources.
Acting Executive Director of the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies, Azer Bayramov, noted that the Fund pays special attention to conducting educational activities for startups and ICT companies on the development of innovative business activities in the field of information and communication technologies. He also stressed the importance of developing proper skills for increasing interest in VR technologies and promoting their application in various fields in our country.
Mohamed Es Fih, an expert from the UN International Trade Center, who conducted the training, spoke in detail about the possibilities of using virtual reality technologies in innovative entrepreneurship. He noted that during recent years, the largest investments have been made in VR technologies in the world.
"The application of VR technologies, which have acquired a large marker share with the involvement of global companies, is expanding rapidly all over the world. Large global ICT companies such as Google, Samsung, Sony and HTC use Virtual Reality technologies in healthcare, defense, automobile and gaming industries, education, real estate, architecture, engineering, construction and other fields."
Note that the purpose of the Innovative Business Program of the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies is to support startups, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs who want to build and develop innovative business.
