Azerbaijani-Dutch business-forum to be held in Baku


The Azerbaijani-Dutch Business Forum to be held on September 13 in Baku.  A Dutch delegation will be led by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Innovation Maxime Verhagen, Azpromo reported.
The Azerbaijani-Dutch Business Forum is organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO).

The heads of Dutch companies will attend the business-forum. They operate in the oil and gas sphere, power engineering, water supply, underground infrastructure, construction, logistics, installation of security systems and monitoring in the workplace.

According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands in 2011 totaled $147.98 million, of which $141.17 million fall to the imports of Dutch goods.

AZPROMO was established by the Azerbaijani government in 2003. The supreme governing body of the Foundation is Board of Trustees composed of representatives from government, private sector and the international community. Initially the foundation was created to support the attraction of foreign direct investments, but since 2005 its functions have included the promotion of exports of local products and services.
