Azerbaijan to implement project on seismically unstable buildings in Baku
Azerbaijan plans to implement the project on microseismic zoning of Baku.An official of the Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Gulam Babayev, says that the project was submitted for consideration of the Japanese Government for further funding.
"This project aims to identify the seismic stability of buildings constructed in the capital during the building boom over the last years. Here it means the study of the foundation and strength of the structure of existing buildings," he said.
According to the Republican Seismological Service Center’s data, the two-year project was prepared to order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Azerbaijan and be realized by the Seismological Service and other relevant structures.
