The Ministry of Communications and IT held meeting with representatives of mobile operators to expand 3G services
The Ministry of Communications and IT continues its activities towards expanding 3G services. The meeting with representatives of these three operators was held in the ministry. Expansion of 3G services; providing new licenses to mobile operators, solving problems existing between operators in accordance with local rules, carrying out preparatory works for execution of “The rule on using a cellular number”, which was intended to give an impetus to healthy competition in the market of mobile communication services, accumulating information in the central server for developing the telecommunication network and conducting statistical analysis, and other important questions were discussed during the meeting. At the end of the meeting a decision was taken to create favorable conditions for expanding 3G services and launching new services, which are in great demand today. In spite of the fact that the operators took measures to solve some issues indicated in the minutes of the meeting, the Communication & TI Ministry has not so far received from the mobile operators information about elimination of all these problems. Timely elimination of the abovementioned technical problems by the operators will speed up application and expansion of the new generation technologies in Azerbaijan.
