AZ-CERT prepares first report on virus and hacker attack threats
Computer Emergency Response Team AZ-CERT has prepared the first report about computer incidents in Azerbaijan, head of structural department of the Institute of Information Technologies of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences Yadigar Imamverdiyev told. He said the report will be published in mid-August.The statistical report, which will be published once a month, will reflect the number of recorded network incidents and virus activity on AzScienceNet scientific computer network.It is preliminary planned to publish information on malicious programs fixed in the network, vulnerabilities in software, as well as a list of recorded Web-resources, bearing a malicious code.The report mainly aims at timely informing users about the threats which will allow significantly reducing the damage from virus and hacker attacks.
At present, applications received by AZ-CERT are recorded and processed. The report with recommendations to improve the level of information security of systems is prepared based on analysis of incidents data. Specialists are also ready to provide all possible assistance to address incident consequences.
