State duties for TV and radio broadcasting reduced in Azerbaijan


The state duty required to acquire license for television and radio broadcasting in Azerbaijan has been reduced. President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to make changes to the decree 'On improving rules to issue license to certain kinds of activity' signed by him on 2 September 2002. Earlier, state duties required to obtain television and radio broadcasting license was 11,000 manat. Following the changes, this sum was 5,500 manat for TV broadcasting in Baku, 3,000 manat for broadcasting in districts, 5,000 for broadcasting across the republic, 2,500 manat for radio broadcasting in Baku, 1,000 manat for radio broadcasting in districts, 3,000 manat for cable broadcasting with about 5,000 subscribers, 5,000 manat for cable broadcasting with over 5,000 subscribers and 1,000 manat for satellite broadcasting. The cost of the license for broadcasting across the republic remains unchanged – 11,000 manat. The license for satellite broadcasting of foreign television and radio channels also costs 1,000 manat.
