China Mobile chairman has no iPhone launch timetable

China Mobile Ltd. has no timetable to start offering Apple Inc.'s iPhone smartphones in China, China Mobile Chairman Wang Jianzhou said Friday.

Wang, speaking on the sidelines of a forum, declined to comment further on plans to offer the iPhone.

China Mobile, the world's largest mobile carrier by subscriber accounts, has for years said it is in talks with Apple to offer the company's popular phones.

Wang has said the two companies have a consensus on using TD-LTE, a fourth-generation mobile technology backed by China Mobile, on future iPhones.
