U.S. Navy develops augmented reality diving helmet


The United States Navy has revealed a brand new diving equipment which could help its top-notch forces in conflicts that were submerged. The new diving equipment was likened by many to the head gear utilized by Iron Man.

Formally called the Divers Augmented Eyesight Screen (DAVD), the high tech helmet has a display which has a real-time hyperlink to operators on the area providing the submerged user voice orders or stay video messages. The helmet supports high resolution videos and has a see through heads up show, which can be embedded right inside it.

In a statement obtained by The Everyday Mail, US Navy Underwater Systems Improvement Project Engineer Dennis Gallagher stated, “By assembling this HUD immediately inside the dive helmet as an alternative to attaching a screen externally, it can supply a capacity similar to something from an ‘Iron Man’ film. You’ve got everything you visually want right there within the helmet.”

The high-tech heads up show enables divers to have a real-time feed of essential info like place, sector sonar, and diagrams. The HUD also enables divers to get features photos, like texting, and even augmented reality videos.

Users of the DAVD have complete control of the helmet. They are able to decide to show the HUD away or on, in addition to reposition the screen in distinct places on the HUD.
