Aztelekom LLC holds event on the occasion of International Peace Day
Every year, September 21 is celebrated around the world as International Peace Day. Governments, civil societies and communities in different countries across the world mark this day by holding various activities.
In Azerbaijan, various activities are also held on the eve of International Peace Day within Peace Month from August 21 to September 21. Thus, Aztelekom Limited Liability Company of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies held an event on the occasion of International Peace Day.
Head of the Legal Department of Aztelekom LLC Imangulu Azizov made a presentation on the topic of “Respect for human rights and promotion of peace culture as a means of establishing good cooperation among people regardless of their religion and race” at the event. He said that respect for human rights, promotion of culture of peace and tolerance, and legal enlightenment of the population are the most important factors in the process of building a democratic and legal state and civil society.
“It is not possible to observe human rights without peace and the rule of law. Peace is an integral part of the state policy of Azerbaijan. The foundation of this policy was laid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev. And now President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is conducting successfully the state policy on a staged basis.
Since the Republic of Azerbaijan gained independence, it has become a full-fledged member of the international community of states thanks to the efforts of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in building a democratic, legal and secular state. Serious measures have been implemented in the country over the recent years to strengthen our independence and ensure the safety and freedom of people.
As a result of these measures, the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms was declared as an overriding priority in the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. So the Azerbaijani Government takes necessary measures, using fully its political and legal potential, to create appropriate legal mechanisms and achieve this goal,” Imangulu Azizov said.
