Microsoft to stop supporting Office 2007 in October

The Microsoft development team published an information message on the completion of the extended support phase of the Office 2007 suite of office applications.

Beginning on October 10, 2017, Microsoft will no longer be releasing updates, patches and security updates for the said version of Office, as well as providing technical advice, including on a commercial basis. The company emphasizes that it is the completion of the life cycle of all the software products included in the 2007 version – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Visio, Outlook, etc.

To avoid problems with the protection of personal computers and corporate IT infrastructure, the company recommends that users and organizations that are still using Office 2007 products and services in their work begin planning to migrate to Office 365 or update to supported versions of Office, for example, Office 2016.

The Office 2007 Office suite was introduced by the company on November 30, 2006, simultaneously with the presentation of the Windows Vista operating system. The main differences of the product from previous versions of the office are completely redesigned user interface Ribbon, support for a new format of Open XML documents and many additional functions.
