Sharp launched AQUOS R compact with 4.9-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 660, Android 8.0
Sharp has launched AQUOS R Compact, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone for the 2017 winter lineup. The smartphone comes with a 4.9-inch (1080 x 2032 pixels) Full HD+ display with a 120hz refresh rate. The company uses FFD (Free Form Display) technology to make small holes precisely in the screen for front camera and receiver.
There is 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage which is also expandable up to 256GB using MicroSD Card. Under the hood, it is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU.
It comes with a 16.4-megapixel primary rear camera with hybrid autofocus which combines phase detection AF and contrast AF for ultra-fast focus. There is also an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It has a rounded design and a width of just 66 mm for a comfortable one-handed usage. The fingerprint sensor that is present below the screen on a bezel.
The new Sharp AQUOS R Compact runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) out of the box and is backed up by a 2500mAh battery. Further for connectivities, it includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C.

The Sharp AQUOS R Compact comes in White, Black, Yellow and Purple color options and will be available through local operator Softbank in Japan in December. There is no news on pricing yet.
