Today is National Television Day
Today our country is celebrating National Television Day.
Television broadcasting, which has become an integral part of our lives in modern times, started in Azerbaijan on February 14, 1956.
A television broadcasting network has been established in Azerbaijan over the past 62 years, and TV broadcast transmitters meeting latest standards have been put into operation.
The Baku TV Tower Complex, which was completed on the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev and commissioned in 1996, is considered to be the main broadcasting center in the country. This complex, which is a 310-meter-high building and has a unique design, broadcasts television programs from Azerbaijan and many foreign countries.
At present, 99.7 percent of populated areas in Azerbaijan is provided with broadcasting by 153 digital TV transmitters of Radio-TV Broadcasting and Satellite Communications Production Association’s 109 radio and television broadcasting stations operating throughout the country.
