British company interested in creating Azerbaijani second satellite
The British company Surrey Satellite Technology (SSTL) is interested in obtaining an order from "Azerkosmos" to create a platform for low-orbit satellite, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry said.
The issue was discussed during the meeting between Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov and British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Bateman.
The opportunity of the company's participation in the tender was highly appreciated. It will be announced within the second satellite program.
SSTL company has been specializing in designing and manufacturing small satellites and their onboard equipment since 1984. The company launched 34 satellites. About 25 are equipped with technique for Earth observation.
