Vivo Introduces iQOO 5G Phone With 120W Charging Ahead Of Its Launch In Q3
Vivo plans to launch its first 5G smartphone dubbed Vivo iQOO 5G after carrying out a test for a Vivo NEX 5G prototype. This 5G phone is expected to be introduced within the next 3 months.
The upcoming 5G smartphone is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with an X50 modem, which is similar to most 5G smartphones available on the market. It is known that 5G requires 4 antennas, while 4G needs 2 antennas. Combined with Wifi and Bluetooth, that’s a total of eight. It was totally a challenge to prevent interference and find room for them.
Additionally, coming with an additional modem makes motherboard bigger. And as 5G needs more power, not only does the company have to reduce the device’s battery, but it also needs to create a complex 3D layout. In general, the device could connect to the 5G network for one day and the battery remained at 70 percent.
According to Vivo’s 5G R&D Center’s Director – Qin Fei, 5G connectivity will let carriers increase data caps, as well as let more device connect to the 5G network, and reduce latency.
The latency on a 5G network can be decreased by 10ms, supporting AR app, and game streaming services as you can see in the above video.
