Well-known Forbes magazine writes about Azerbaijan’s first global virtual hackathon


The influential publication Forbes has published an article on its online version about Azerbaijan’s first global virtual hackathon – Global Virtual Hackathon, organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
 
The article on innovative solutions introduced in the world during COVID-19 notes that Azerbaijan hosted the Global Virtual Hackathon to help people better support each other during the pandemic. The publication also says that the winner of the competition was a team from Poland.
 
At the same time, with reference to the organizers, it is said that without any preparation in a tense working environment, important decisions were made within a month’s time aimed at contributing to the struggle of the international community.
 
It should be noted that the Global Virtual Hackathon, which is mentioned in the article, was organized in April this year by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the United Nations Development Programme and the SUP.VC Acceleration Center to combine technological solutions in order to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Over 600 applications from 45 countries covering five continents were registered to participate in the competition.
 
By decision of the jury, the team “Crisis Heroes” from Poland took the first place.The second place was taken by the Azerbaijani team Javid-19, which presented the idea of supporting small and medium-sized businesses through vouchers. The third place went to the Brazilian team “Zebrafish”.
