Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon 778G processor for advanced mid-range 5G smartphones


Qualcomm has expanded its range of mobile processors with the announcement of the Snapdragon 778G 5G (SM7325), a chip designed for use in advanced mid-range smartphones with fifth generation mobile connectivity.
 
The novelty is manufactured using 6-nanometer technology. The processor includes eight Kryo 670 cores with clock speeds up to 2,4 GHz. Responsible for graphics processing is the Adreno 642L accelerator with support for Vulkan 1.1, OpenGL 3S 3.1, OpenCL 2.0 FP, HDR10 + and HDR10.
 
Smartphones based on the Snapdragon 778G 5G platform can be equipped with a Full HD + display with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. It is about support for 10-bit color representation.
 
The processor enables cameras with a resolution of up to 192 million pixels, dual cameras in a 36 + 22 million pixel configuration, and triple 22 megapixel cameras.
 
The chip’s arsenal includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless adapters, as well as an NFC controller. Qualcomm 3D Sonic and 3D Sonic Max fingerprint scanners are available.
 
The integrated Snapdragon X53 5G modem allows data transfer rates up to 3,3Gbps. Implemented support for Quick Charge 5 fast charging technology.
