Honor becomes a member of GSMA

Honor began its journey as an independent company at the end of last year and it made another step towards regaining its spot as a major manufacturer.

The Chinese company has announced its membership of the GSMA - that’s the GSM Association that represents major telecoms, phone makers, equipment providers and internet service companies.

In a press release, Honor stated it “plans to further strengthen its strategic partnerships with other members of the GSMA.” The company’s role within the association will be “to create new opportunities to empower the mobile communications industry for the benefit of the entire ecosystem”.

GSM Association is also the organization behind MWC in Barcelona, Shanghai, and Los Angeles. Announcing this partnership with Honor likely means we’ll see new mobile devices next month at the European leg of the conference.

Hopefully, we’ll see the Honor 50 series which will introduce a phone with Google Services - something the brand hasn’t done in over two years.
