Azerbaijani-Turkish working group on digital transformation holds first meeting


The first meeting of the Azerbaijani-Turkish working group on digital transformation was held today at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
 
The meeting was co-chaired by Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Samir Mammadov and Vice President of the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Yavuz Emir Beyribey.
 
The meeting discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the areas of big data processing, artificial intelligence, government cloud and cybersecurity, which are key components of digital transformation. The importance of studying the Turkish experience in developing the concept of digital transformation of Azerbaijan was emphasized.
 
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the harmonization of the national legislation of the two countries in the field of personal data protection, as well as the development of a draft agreement on obtaining the status of a “reliable country” to ensure cross-border data transfer at the next stage.
 
It should be noted that an agreement on the establishment of a working group was reached during the meeting held between Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev and President of the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Ali Taha Koch on February 18, 2021 in Ankara.
