File sharers issued court orders over allegedly illegal ebooks


Two file sharing sites accused of illegally distributing ebooks were served court orders this week, after publishing companies filed injunctions against them, and have voluntarily taken their sites offline, the Financial Times reported Wednesday.

The publishers claimed Ireland-based Library.nu and Ifile. it offered as free downloads more than 400,000 copyrighted ebooks, according to the newspaper.
Seventeen publishing companies filed injunctions covering 170 copyrighted books in a German court, the newspaper reported.

In the U.K., the Serious Organised Crime Agency shut down RnBXclusive.com, a music website that allegedly posted tracks "stolen from artists," according to the newspaper
