Ph.D in Economics: ‘Development of the satellite industry will bring great success to Azerbaijan’

During his interview with “World of Communications” Ph.D in Economics Emin Mammadzade, the leading research scientist of the Innovation Management and Development Department of the Institute of Economy the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, said that the development of the satellite industry will bring great success to Azerbaijan.

“Satellites will play a significant role in the development of information technologies in the country. They will increase the efficiency of mobile communication, digital television, internet and other electronic and communication services by several times. As a consequence, the volume of information exchange between Azerbaijan and the rest of the world will substantially increase, and they will become much more open to each other. Azerbaijan’s data transmission capabilities will play an important role in promoting the country’s image in the world. Azerbaijan will be able to more effectively convey to the world its position on different foreign policy issues. By increasing the application of modern information technologies, Azerbaijan was able to lift the information blockade and tell the world the true information about Karabakh problem. The satellite industry will also play an important part in the development of such fields as agriculture, oil production, geological exploration, military defense, tourism and etc. As a result of realization of large scale space and satellite projects, Azerbaijan will turn into a developed country with advanced and knowledge-based economy.”
