A presentation ceremony of "Great Azerbaijan" – a joint project of the companies Huawei and Bakcell – has been held in Baku. The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, diplomatic corps and partner companies.
The project, which consists of four different components – "Beautiful minds", "Beautiful culture", "Beautiful people", and "Beautiful nature," – will be held throughout the year. The purpose of the "Beautiful nature" component is to show the richness, variety, and beauty of the Azerbaijan’s nature. A photo contest will be held within this component of the project.
Within the "Beautiful culture" component of the project "Great Azerbaijan", cultural and entertainment activities will be held in various parts of Azerbaijan. The "Beautiful people" component will provide the world community with information about the everyday life of the Azerbaijani people and will reveal the rich inner world of our people.
The "Beautiful minds" component will reveal the potential, talent, and accomplishments of the Azerbaijani youth. Note that the project "Great Azerbaijan" is one of Huawei's major social projects in Azerbaijan.
During the ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of the company Huawei Azerbaijan Zezhun Zhao noted that the company had been operating in the country for over 15 years, and that "it was decided to start a big project in order to get acquainted with such a beautiful country." "This is only the beginning, and we believe that the project will be a success. We also believe that in the future we will be able to implement a number of joint initiatives in Azerbaijan," he said.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Iltimas Mammadov noted the high level of development of the telecommunications network in Azerbaijan. He said that as a result of this development, all the regions of the country are now covered with the high-speed internet network.
"The activities of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies are not limited to this area. The ministry provides support in the implementation of many projects. And one of these projects is Great Azerbaijan. The ministry has created all necessary conditions for implementation of the project.
I’d like to note that Huawei participates actively in all tenders held by the ministry. And this project bears testament to the strong cooperation between the company and the ministry. I hope that the "Great Azerbaijan" will reveal the subtleties and elements of the beauty of our dynamically developing country," the Deputy Minister said.
Chief Executive Officer of the company of Bakcell - one of the partners of the project - Nikolai Beckers also spoke at the ceremony. He said that the project will create conditions for the expansion of comprehensive relations between the two countries and the presentation of Azerbaijan on the international level.
"As the organiser of the project, we are aiming to attract more people to Azerbaijan from all over the wold by promoting the country’s image on the world arena with the use of social networks and information resources," he said.
