The "Best Presentation" contest dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev has come to an end.
The contest held among the pupils of the IX-XI grades of secondary schools was organized jointly by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the New Azerbaijan Party, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, and the Republican Committee of Free Trade Unions of Education Workers of Azerbaijan.
According to the results of the contest, 8, 14 and 18 pupils were awarded first, second and third degree diplomas, respectively. And 25 pupils received honor certificates.
According to AZERTAC, a ceremony of awarding the winners of the contest was held on 4 May 2018 at the Heydar Aliyev Center.
The participants of the event honored the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honors and laid flowers to his grave.
They also paid the tribute to the memory of the well-known ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva and laid flowers to her grave.
The event, attended by representatives of state bodies, MPs, university rectors, education workers and students, started with the State Anthem of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that the great leader Heydar Aliyev always attached great importance to education and that the ideas of the National Leader were implemented resolutely by President Ilham Aliyev.
The Minister said that Azerbaijan was developing dynamically as a result of the wise and purposeful policy pursued by the Head of State.
Noting that effective programs and projects were implemented in the field of education, Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the measures implemented in accordance with the "State Strategy for Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan" approved by the relevant order of President Ilham Aliyev.
The Minister stressed that the First-Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention to education.
Noting that the material and technical base of educational institutions was further strengthened thanks to the projects implemented in the field of education, Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted successes in education and challenges ahead.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the "Best Presentation" contest for young people and wished the pupils success in their future lives.
Then, Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov spoke about the historical services of national leader Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani people and the State.
He stressed the importance of the in-depth study of the rich heritage of the Great Leader.
Speaking about the successful reforms implemented in the education sphere in Azerbaijan, Ali Ahmadov stressed that President Ilham Aliyev attached great importance to this field.
"Today, Azerbaijan’s education sector is facing great challenges. Education is regarded as one of the most fundamental principles of Azerbaijan's development. If a country doesn’t give proper attention to education, it cannot reach the high level of developed," Deputy Prime Minister added.
Speaking about the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Anar Alakbarov, one of the organizers of the contest, noted that the Foundation continues to realize the ideas of national leader Heydar Aliyev through implementing large-scale projects that serve the country's prosperity and people’s wellbeing.
"The Foundation has earned the respect and trust of all our people through concrete projects and practical work implemented under the initiative and leadership of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. At the same time, being the country’s largest non-governmental organization that has won the sympathy of the international community via its humanitarian work, we represent Azerbaijan in the world.
All this multifaceted activity is based on the ideas of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the determination to realize these ideas.
Today's competition testifies that the Azerbaijani youth shows great interest in the in-depth study of national leader Heydar Aliyev's unprecedented service to our people and his concept of state building. And this means that the future of Azerbaijan is in safe hands," Anar Alakbarov said.
Anar Alakbarov stressed that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation always paid special attention to education.
"The construction of new school buildings and implementation of other projects throughout the country, including the most remote villages, is a clear example of the special attention President of the Foundation, First-Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva gives to this sphere," he added.
Then, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade spoke about the life and activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The Minister said that Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern independent Azerbaijan, came to power in difficult historical times, served great services to our people and saved our country from disintegration.
"During his leadership in Azerbaijan, the Great Leader made important steps towards the development of the country and promotion of Azerbaijan in the world arena.
The National Leader, who attached importance to all spheres, always paid special attention to education. And today, President Ilham Aliyev gives special care and attention to Azerbaijan’s education sector," he said.
Chairman of the Republican Committee of Free Trade Unions of Education Workers of Azerbaijan, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev spoke about national leader Heydar Aliyev's exceptional service to his homeland and people.
He also spoke about the importance of the works that were carried out in the spheres of education and science in Azerbaijan under the guidance of the Great Leader.
Sattar Mohbaliyev emphasized the importance of the contest and congratulated the winners.
