In 2018, sales of mobile technology, including related equipment, software and services, grew by 3.2% in the world compared to 2017 and exceeded $ 1.6 trillion. By 2021, sales will exceed 1.7 trillion dollars. This is stated in the report of the analytical company IDC.
The mobile services segment accounts for almost 60% of the market. More than 90% of it is accounted for by communication services, but the corporate mobile services segment is also rapidly growing, designed to plan, implement, operate, maintain and support mobile strategies, applications and devices.
The second largest market segment is the equipment segment. By 2021, sales of mobile equipment in the world will grow to 675 billion dollars, 75% of which will be accounted for smartphones.
Compared to the previous two, the software segment is small, but it is growing the fastest - an average of 14.7% per year. It accounts for the largest share of corporate mobile applications, whose sales by 2021 will increase to 7.1 billion dollars.
More than 70% of global sales of mobile technology accounted for the consumer segment. However, its growth rate already in 2019 will fall below 1% per year.
